About us

We are a technology-agnostic developer dedicated to identifying and pursuing viable opportunities in the UK, Europe, and Australia.

Throughout our extensive experience in the renewable energy sector, we have successfully developed over 500 megawatts (MW) of solar power and battery energy storage systems (BESS), showcasing our commitment to sustainable energy solutions.

We actively cultivate and nurture strong, lasting relationships throughout the entire renewables supply chain, connecting a diverse range of stakeholders, from trustworthy manufacturers and reliable suppliers to strategic investors and experienced engineers.

Meet the Team

  • David Fyffe

    Managing Director

    David started out in the telecommunications industry working in the offshore oil and gas sector. In 2002 he acquired a redundant military airfield and successfully promoted a broadband enabled business park in partnership with British Telecom, building c.150,000 sq ft of office and data centre facilities for the government, financial and SME sectors.

    He later invested in renewable energies, initially focusing on utility scale solar farms in the UK, Germany, and Italy. To date, David has transacted >300MW of solar and >227MW of BESS in partnership with institutional investors and family offices.  

    David oversees Capbal’s global strategy, cultivating relationships and negotiating international commercial arrangements. 

  • Andrew Fleetwood

    Legal Director

    Andrew has over 20 years’ experience in the legal industry and has worked on project acquisition, development, construction and operation in the wind, solar, BESS, nuclear, natural gas and waste-to-energy sectors.

    Andrew is responsible for implementing robust contractual arrangements to ensure the proper functioning and development of all Capbal projects.

  • Calum Hedigan

    Project Director

    Calum began his career in Spain, practising as an IT lawyer in Madrid, advising a range of high-growth startups and scaleups regarding legal, commercial, and operational strategies.

    Calum joined Capbal as a Commercial Analyst and quickly grew into our Project Director role, responsible for pushing projects through from origination to operation.
